果然是西德尼·吉里亚特的剧本，与他二十年前的贵妇失踪几乎同样套路（也与56擒凶记问世在同年），只是丢失了希区才能创造出的悬疑构思与浪漫节奏，这两样东西也都存在但几乎退为点缀，影片更突出英伦特色的荒诞闹剧和婚性冷讽。吉里亚特十年前还自导过一部也带“绿色”的电影，也是由阿拉斯塔尔西姆领衔主演，不过他演的是……侦探。
前半段特别好笑，到了酒店后的部分感觉笑料一般。
