可以和《Serpico》《Prince of the City》并列为Lumet的“警察反腐三部曲”，虽然是从监察部门的角度反腐，但还是穿插了男主父亲这样一个警察头子的角色。Andy Garcia发挥非常出色，上能咆哮怒斥腐败警员，下能循循善诱新检察官，相对来说Lena Olin的角色就有点多余了。
